Our New Favorite DVDs

One of my favorite parts of traveling is observing the tiny differences in how people live in other places--how small the refrigerators are in other countries, what kind of yogurt you can buy at the grocery store, whether there ARE grocery stores or if there are small specialty stores instead, and on and on. I used to love The Teletubbies because of those little segments with the kids in England doing laundry or going to the fruit stand or whatever, just because I got tiny glimpses of mamas and houses and stores in another place.
So it was inevitable that I'd LOVE The Little Travelers. These DVDS are narrated by kids and focus on the details of daily life in Japan, Bali, and the British Isles. While I'd love to take my kids to Japan, that's not something that's financially feasible for us right now. Luckily, these DVDs do an amazing job of showing kids a little bit of what life in another country is like.
