MAMA LIKES

Grandmamalessness
posted by Sheri

My mom served as our Grandmama in residence for awhile when Amy and I first kicked off this webzine. She gave it a good go before life without daughter-given deadlines pulled her back to it. So while she is away working her last year {{cross fingers}} before retirement and making time and days and overnights for her four grandkids and going on cruises with my dad and such, we have been doing without our regular Grandmama fixes.

So thank goodness for Persimmon Tree today. I was just really feeling a deep Grandmamalessness. Persimmon Tree is not just for and about grandmothers; it is a wonderful gift of words and art from a bunch of rad women writers/artists over 60 to all the people who love them. However, this time around, Martha Ross's "Grandma Season" did make me particularly happy.

Yes, you have to subscribe, but it's so worth it. For instance, cause Carolyn Kizer's poems are on there right now too.
