Paid Work: I help run my father's nature photography business. I've been very lucky to work for him and be able to have my kids with me at work.

Activism: I love Moms Rising and their email campaigns. I'm a volunteer breastfeeding counselor—I love to help a mama find her bliss in nursing her baby.

Reader since: I've been reading for at least a year and a half now. I love hearing real mama voices talk about motherhood, and not some media version of mamahood.

Currently reading: I just read Alison Bechdel's autobiography, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic. I haven't seen her toon, Dykes to Watch Out for, since I was in college, and I sure have missed her drawings! I have a ton of sewing and craft books next to my bed, along with my current parenting read, The Explosive Child. Oh, and I must mention Jen Lemen's beautiful zine, Beginnings, which has been a salve for my heart this week.

Favorite mama blog: I have many beloved mama blogs; Krista's at The Silent K is one of my favorites. She is wise beyond her years, and writes inspiring posts about art and creativity, parenting, and yoga.
