Paid work: I don't currently do any paid work, but I'm starting to be interested again. I would eventually like to become a postpartum doula.

Activism: I don't do any activism in the strict sense, but I feel strongly about encouraging mothers I interact with anywhere and everywhere to trust their instincts and hearts and not to worry about the "experts." I truly believe that there is no "one, right way" but that there IS something that will work for each child. The end. I wish more people I had told me this the first few months of motherhood.

Reader since: I've been reading for a year. mamazine.com was one of the first mama sites I found that I enjoyed (and continue to) top to bottom. I honestly think I was Googling away, one day, trying to find encouragement, and suddenly there you were. I love the chance to hear so many different voices in one place, and I'm continually grateful for the tone—that everyone is sharing not telling or correcting. As your "about us" page says, there are plenty of other people (on the net, in the media, in real life) already doing that (solicited or non).

Currently reading: I just finished reading Ivan Doig's The Whistling Season and loved it. I've also been reading a lot of Madeleine L'Engle, and I'm in the middle of Bill Bryson's Notes from a Small Island. I have a very long list of books to read next.

Favorite mama blog: I honestly don't think I have an all-time favorite mama blog. There are so many who have been good friends (real and virtual) along the way…
