Shaking Beef and Unshakable Friendships

In my current state of affairs and then some, I was really in need of some time out of my head. And since alki-hol doesn't work for me anymore (in fact, yesterday I was officially five years sober!!!), I tried a much-needed evening out with my dear friends Melissa (our beloved poetry editor), Karen, and Amy over some warm and yummy food.
Between Lemon Grass's Thank you, my friends. You saved me from my head for another day. I love and appreciate you all. |

Lemon Grass Soup and Shaking Beef (dear God, that stuff's good!), the freaky waitress, the cute not-so-smart busboy, Lucca's Death by Chocolate dessert (which Melissa and I have renamed Warm Chocolate Cake because it's just a better name), and the great laughs and conversation, I couldn't have asked for a better evening—not just away from home and mamahood but away from my own crazy worrying brain. Sometimes that's the only kind of refueling I need.
