Damn, These Are Cute (and I Feel Rested Enough to Wear 'Em)!

So my weekend getaway with my husband (and NOT my child) was delightful. I can't believe how much my perspective has changed since that little three-day jaunt to San Francisco. Life, work, and motherhood seem doable again. Things seem a lot more "steady as she goes."
Last weekend, Grandma took Clyde and Ed and I headed for the city where we ate out, shopped leisurely, sipped tea, saw a movie, walked around after dark, held hands, watched bad hotel TV, and hold onto your hats, talked uninterrupted for hours on end.
You know it's a really sad state of affairs when you notice yourself laughing with your mate and it feels foreign and strange. I highly recommend getting to know your partner again (you know, away from them small people who demand so much) since we not only forget why we like each other, but we seem to lose little important parts of ourselves in the day-to-day parenthood sprint too. So either the getaway chilled out my wound-too-tightly, control-freakish, morose innards or the shopping high still hasn't worn off...
Check out the cute shoes I got with the Nordstrom gift certificate that's been burning a hole in my purse since November (thanks, M&K). And most importantly, thank God, they match this here webzine.
