I was driving alone, yes alone, the other day and Don't Crash the Car Tonight came on the radio, and I was like Yes!, singing, bouncing, cosmically transformed back probably 15 years to a sense of freedom, rebellion, and sure a little romanticized fantasizing about my youth.

I don't want to go back. How could I? I can't, and I wouldn't. But here are a few things I believed at that time in my life that I would like to try to believe again in my current life:

  • Singing good girl music in the car alone is a priority.
  • A steady diet of bean and cheese burritos and iced mochas is not going to kill me, as long as I eat a big salad every now and then.
  • Connecting regularly and wholly with my girlfriends is necessary.
  • I will never cover my gray.
  • Parents know what they are doing (or at least that they are doing fine with what they're doing).
  • A president for whom I voted is a possibility.
  • The cute boy at the coffee counter could secretly love me.
  • I have plenty of years to make my dreams come true.
  • Dreams come true.
